Raising Oaks Sourdough Class
Join us for a Raising Oaks sourdough class! This hands-on sourdough class at Raising Oaks Homestead, will help you learn the lost art of turning simple ingredients into a delicious, nourishing loaf of bread. In this three-hour workshop, we’ll guide you through every step of the sourdough process—from understanding your starter and how to care for it, to shaping dough for an ideal bulk fermentation and rise. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, our class is designed to provide all the tools and knowledge you need to bake sourdough with confidence at home.
Each participant will leave with their own batch of ready-to-bake dough, a basket for proofing, and a portion of our own active sourdough starter, straight from our farm kitchen. You’ll also receive a bench scraper, recipe card, and detailed instructions so you can replicate the process in your own kitchen.
Our class is relaxed, interactive and fun, offering a chance to ask questions and get hands-on experience with expert guidance. We’ll also provide a charcuterie board and infused water as refreshments to enjoy during the class, making it a perfect way to spend a few hours learning a traditional craft while enjoying great food and company.
